The Fighting Scots fell to host Trine in straight sets (25-19, 25-11, 25-20) before defeating St. Mary's (Ind.) College in four sets (25-15, 25-27, 25-11, 25-15) for their first win of the season.

Trinity Harmon led the way defensively with 13 digs and Nash added 11 of her own.

St. Mary's (3-4) kept it close early, staying within a few points, before Wooster pulled away late in the frame with a pair of 4-0 runs to win the first set. Nash really caught fire in the second, propelling the team to a 7-1 lead with three quick kills. However, the Belles battled back to tie the game five separate times late. Down set point, St. Mary's finished on a 3-0 run to even up the match at a set apiece.

Unfazed, Wooster got out to big leads in each of the final two sets which helped the Scots cruise to the victory. Nash led several players in double figures with 16 kills while Tamara Turner, Dillard and Gail each amassed 10 kills. Harmon added 18 digs in the second match to anchor the defense and Sydney Fitzcharles (12), Thompson (11) and Lucy Kinser (10) also recorded double-digit digs.
