volleyball team HIRAM – Hiram College improved to 11-9 and 2-2 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with a 3-0 win (25-20, 25-21, 25-11) over The College of Wooster volleyball team on Saturday.

Wooster started off the contest with seven straight points behind Tyara Thompson serving. Caroline Dillard ended the run with three straight kills before a service error.

Yet, Hiram chipped away late, erasing a 19-14 deficit with nine straight points. For Wooster, eight of those points came via an error or misplay.

Hiram carried over its momentum from set one into the second with an early 4-0 lead. Wooster overcame the early blip to take a 10-7 lead.

From there, the teams played evenly until Wooster scored four straight points to take a 20-17 lead. However, Hiram responded with four of their own before Wooster tied the set again at 21. Unfortunately, Hiram then won the next four to take the set.

The third set was all Hiram after an eight-point run gave the Terriers a 14-4 advantage. They then led 23-8 before concluding the set at 25-11.
