Nash, Fitzcharles Voted to All-NCAC Team

Hayley Nash, Sydney Fitzcharles, Wooster Volleyball 2022 All-NCAC Volleyball Team

Senior Hayley Nash made program history again as the first College of Wooster volleyball player to score three first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honors. The Fighting Scots' star outside hitter was joined on the all-conference squad by senior libero Sydney Fitzcharles, who was a third-team selection.

Nash, Wooster's first first-year to earn first-team All-NCAC honors in 2019, has now collected first-team laurels each year an all-conference team has been selected during her career. The art history and studio art major, who is Wooster's eighth three-time all-conference pick, ranked fourth in the NCAC's regular season with 2.97 kills per set. She was fifth league-wide with 0.44 aces, with that positioning fueled by a co-single-match program-best nine against Saint Mary's College (Indiana) on October 21. The senior finished just outside the top-10 in digs per set in the NCAC at 3.09.

Nash logged double-digit kills 12 times this season and became the eighth player in program history to log 1,000 career kills. Her season-high of 19 came against Denison University. She added 13 matches with at least 10 digs, with a season-high 24 coming against Capital University during the Ginny Hunt Kilt Classic.

Fitzcharles debuted on the All-NCAC team after ranking second in the conference in digs per set (4.47) and aces per set (0.49) during the regular season. The senior logged 19 matches with at least 10 digs on the year, seven with at least 20, and had a season-high of 26 in a four-set win over Kenyon College on October 19. The neuroscience major fired off eight aces against Averett University, which at the time ranked as the second-most in a match during the current scoring era.

Fitzcharles logged her 1,000th career dig against Alma College in September and entered the NCAC Tournament seventh all-time in program history with 1,316 digs.
