The College of Wooster women's cross country team finished in 10th-place out of 22 NCAA Div. III teams (23rd of 47 overall) at Friday's All-Ohio Intercollegiate Championships, and the Fighting Scot men were 14th (30th overall) at the annual meet hosted by Cedarville University in Cedarville, Ohio. Harriers from all across the Buckeye State competed, spanning NCAA Div. I, II, and III, and NAIA schools.

In the 5K women's race, Wooster finished ahead of all but two of the seven competitors from the North Coast Athletic Conference while totaling 252 points. Oberlin College won the team championship with 64.

Leading the Scots again was Colleen O'Neil, who came in 12th individually among the Div. III field (58th overall out of 317 runners) by covering the cool, rainy course in 19:06.88. About 23 seconds back was teammate Meredith Shaul, who took 35th (19:29.77), while Sarah Appleton and Chelsea Denlinger were very close together in 55th (20:05.52) and 60th (20:08.68), respectively. Wooster's fifth scorer, Monica Ramstad, turned in a 90th-place performance (21:03.52).

The men's competition, an 8K event, saw the Scots tally up 341 points and Ohio Northern University won the Div. III portion with 83.

Wooster's effort was highlighted by a top-20 Div. III showing from Luke Hutchings-Goetz, who crossed in 19th (99th overall out of 310 runners) with a 26:54.65 time. Following Hutchings-Goetz, Ethan Rudawsky, Kevin DeGroot, and Micah Caunter ran in a tight pack, while finishing 69th (27:59.10), 74th (28:04.02), and 83rd (28:14.45), respectively. Fellow Scot Sam Swartz was also among the top-100, notching 96th-place (28:39.80).

Wooster is off from competition until it hosts the Fighting Scots Invitational Oct. 12.
