Men and Women Each Place Second at Fighting Scots Invitational

Men's 8K Results | Women's 6K Results

The College of Wooster's men's and women's cross country teams each took second place at their own Fighting Scots Invitational Wednesday evening, which included NCAA Div. II school's Edinboro University and Ashland University, and Div. III school, and fellow North Coast Athletic Conference foe, Hiram College.

In the men's 8K, Kevin DeGroot led Wooster with an 8th-place finish in 27:24.20. Wooster also occupied the 10th, 11th, and 12th spots, as Luke Hutchings-Goetz (22:28.20), Ethan Rudawsky (28:29.60), and Micah Caunter (28:37.90) crossed the finish line within a few steps of each other.

The women competed in a 6K, and the Fighting Scots had three runners claim spots in the top-10, as Colleen O'Neil took sixth in 23:57.90, Meredith Shaul took 9th in 24:22.20, and Sarah Appleton was 10th in 24:46.50. Also noteworthy, Monica Ramstad (25:59.40) and Lauren Buyan (26:06.50) scored 11th and 12th, respectively.

Wooster will be off until Oct. 29 when they travel to Springfield, Ohio for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships.
