The College of Wooster cross country teams were part of an 11-member field that brought together NCAA Div. II and III schools at Saturday's Ohio Wesleyan Invitational, which took place at Liberty Park in Powell, Ohio, and the Fighting Scot women emerged with a seventh-place finish and the men ninth.

Of the 142 competitors in the women's 5K, which also included "unattached" individuals, Wooster's Erin Plews-Ogan finished in the top 10 percent as she took 14th-place in a 19:43.1 time. A close pack of teammates Lauren Buyan, Colleen O'Neil, and Chelsea Denlinger followed as they crossed 38th (20:36.5), 45th (20:51.9), and 50th (20:59.9), respectively.

The event consisted of seven scorers per team, as opposed to the traditional five, and rounding out the Scots' team point total of 181 were Erin Andrews-Sharer in 64th (21:15.4), Monica Ramstad in 66th (21:26.7), and Sarah Bradley in 68th (21:30.6).

In men's action, Luke Hutchings-Goetz headlined Wooster's individual results via a 12th-place showing among 152 competitors as he covered the 8K in 26:32.98. Kevin DeGroot also put forth a strong effort, finishing in 19th (26:59.84).

Joe David was the Scots' No. 3 runner and 49th overall (28:05.00), and Jay Marshall and Sam Swartz were not far behind in 55th- (28:15.42) and 57th-place (28:19.49), respectively. Karl Stemen, in 65th (28:37.56), and Gabriel Abud, in 68th (28:46.11), also scored.
