Allegheny College and Oberlin College secured the North Coast Athletic Conference men's and women's team championships, respectively, highlighting the 2012 NCAC Cross Country Championships, which were hosted by The College of Wooster on Saturday afternoon at the L.C. Boles Golf Course in Wooster, Ohio. The Scots took seventh-place on both the men's and women's sides.

Leading Wooster's men was Luke Hutchings-Goetz, who completed the 8K in 26:54.9, which earned him ninth-place overall against a field of 117 runners, as well as all-conference honors (second-team) for the first time in his career. The men's individual champion was Allegheny's Bobby Over, who edged out Noah Droddy of DePauw University by less than three seconds in 25:35.9.

The Scot men also just narrowly missed out on a second all-conference honoree, as Morgan Clark finished just one spot out of the top-21 by crossing the finish line in 27:28.8. Wooster's other scorers came tightly-packed just nine spots apart, with Kevin DeGroot taking 47th in 28:22.8, Sam Swartz in 48th (28:27.1), Derrick Marshall in 49th (28:28.8), Karl Stemen in 51st (28:30.9), and Jay Marshall in 56th in 28:47.2.

The top-three teams on the men's side were champion Allegheny (29), followed by Wabash College (41) and Ohio Wesleyan University (113). Wooster scored 175 points.

In the women's 6K, Erin Plews-Ogan took 10th-place overall against 99 other student-athletes with her time of 23:47.4, which was good for second-team all-conference honors – the second all-conference certificate of her career (honorable mention as freshman). The top of the individual standings were dominated by Oberlin, as it was home to the champion Molly Martorella (22:31.3), as well as the second- and third-place finishers, Carey Lyons (22:50.8) and Lindsay Neal (23:01.6).

Wooster's next best performance came courtesy of Lauren Buyan, who took 28th in 24:47.8, while Chelsea Denlinger was close behind in 25:08.9 (36th). Rounding out Wooster's scorers were Erin Andrews-Sharer in 41st (25:19.0), Colleen O'Neil in 46th (25:42.5), Monica Ramstad and 50th (26:06.0), and Allison Chin in 51st (26:18.7).

Oberlin took the team championship with 25 points, while Kenyon College (67) and DePauw (102) were second and third, respectively. Wooster totaled 161 points.
