The College of Wooster cross country teams tuned up for the NCAA Div. III Great Lakes Regional Championships with their annual Twilight 5K Challenge, a non-scoring meet that brought together Grove City College and Hiram College on Friday evening at L.C. Boles Golf Course.

Highlighting the individual results, Wooster's Luke Hutchings-Goetz set a course record in winning the men's competition with a 15:12 time, lowering his own record from last year by 11 seconds. The Fighting Scots crossed 1-2-3, with Kevin DeGroot and Morgan Clark backing up Hutchings-Goetz in 15:41 and 15:42, respectively.

Also among the top-10 finishers for Wooster were Derrick Marshall in fifth (16:14), Sam Swartz in seventh (16:20), and Gabriel Abud in ninth (16:31).

Erin Plews-Ogan gave the Scots a sweep of the individual titles, as she took the women's 5K via an 18:36 time, more than 30 seconds faster than her nearest competitor, teammate Lauren Buyan (19:14).

Wooster had five of the top-six overall. In addition to Plews-Ogan and Buyan, Chelsea Denlinger was fourth (19:31), Monica Ramstad fifth (19:35), and Erin Andrews-Sharer sixth (19:41).

The Scots will now look to peak at the NCAA regional meet, to be next Saturday in Anderson, Ind.
