Four Earn All-Ohio Honors

CEDARVILLE -- The College of Wooster cross country team secured four All-Ohio honors on Friday at the All-Ohio Intercollegiate Cross Country Challenge at Cedarville University.

Both the women and men had two runners each finish within the top 20 of Division III runners to earn the All-Ohio honor.

Juniors Will Callender and Drew Robertson both finished in the overall top 15. Callendar finished in 13th with a time of 25:17.86, and Robertson followed in 14th at 25:18.55.

They were also in the top five of Division III runners, coming in fourth and fifth, respectively. Callender scores All-Ohio Cross Country honors for the second time after being the lone Scot to do so last year.

Senior Athena Tharenos was Wooster's top women's runner, coming in 33rd with a time of 23:04.51. Wooster's other All-Ohio recipient was junior Dylan Kretchmar, who finished 46th in a time of 23:22.12.

Tharenos finished 10th among Division III runners, while Kretchmar was 15th. Tharenos earns the All-Ohio Cross Country honor for the second time in her career.

Staying with the women, junior Jessie Breth was the next to finish for Wooster in 162nd in 25:23.16.

First-years Zanna Anderson finished in 232nd (26:33.47) and Reeve Helvoigt finished in 244nd (26:47.48) to wrap up Wooster's top five.

For the men, junior Eric Johnson was Wooster's third best runner coming in at 155th in a time of 27:10.12. Classmate Ben Nichols was not too far behind at 162nd (27:15.05). Sophomore Joe Ahmann finished in 193rd  to round out the top five for Wooster.

Overall, the men were seventh of 14 teams, while the women were eighth of 13.

Wooster will get back to it on Thursday when they host Denison University in a dual meet.
