Senior Titas Bera's remarkable winning streak at No. 1 singles came to a close at 14 matches during The College of Wooster men's tennis team's 9-0 setback at 28th-ranked Denison University on Wednesday afternoon at Granville, Ohio.

Bera bounced back from dropping the first set of his match 6-2 against the Big Reds' (6-1, 1-0 North Coast Athletic Conference West Division) Vlad Rotnov to even up the match at one set all after a thrilling 7-6 (5) second frame. The duo went toe-to-toe in the 10-game tiebreaker with Rotnov ultimately taking it 10-7. Bera's dual-match winning streak started with a 6-4, 7-5 win over John Carroll University's Jad Abdul-Aal back on April 23, 2017.

Bera and junior Jesse DeWitt turned in a strong performance earlier in the match at No. 1 doubles for the Fighting Scots (6-8, 0-0 NCAC East Division). The tightly-contested match eventually went 8-6 to Denison's Kevin Brown and Jamie McDonald.

Further down the singles lineup, sophomore Nathan Devereux took five second-set points off of Brown, a two-time first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree in singles, during his 6-2, 7-5 loss.

Also notable, first-year Joaquin Abos Amo won four games off of his two-time all-conference foe in the second set of his singles match.

Next, Wooster travels to Wittenberg University (1-4, 0-1 NCAC West Division) for a 1 p.m. match on Saturday, March 31.
