Senior Titas Bera became the third Fighting Scot to win 50 No. 1 singles matches.

Bera, ranked eighth in the latest Oracle/Intercollegiate Tennis Association Central Region Rankings, dispatched 23rd-ranked Michael Drougas 6-3, 6-0. The win marked Bera's 50th career victory at No. 1 singles, something only W Association Hall of Famers Bob Savitt and Steve Kuri have done previously in the program's history.

Wooster's (7-9, 0-1 North Coast Athletic Conference East Division) top of the lineup was competitive with Oberlin's (8-7, 1-0 NCAC East Division), and that included at No. 1 doubles where Bera and junior Jesse DeWitt went toe-to-toe with the Yeomen's Manickam Manickam and Michael Drougas, with the latter tandem ultimately taking the match 9-7.

First-year Joaquin Abos Amo won the first set of his match at No. 2 singles against Zachary Vaughn 6-2 before Vaughn prevailed by winning the last two sets 7-6 (4) and 1-0 (7).

Sophomore Nathan Devereux was right in the thick of things at No. 3 singles where he was topped by Manickam in straight sets 7-5, 6-4.

Next, Wooster continues league play against 19th-ranked Kenyon College (12-3, 0-0 NCAC) at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10.
