Alexandra Desotelle, Morgan Hughes, and Jillian Saccogna led The College of Wooster's women's swimming and diving team to a dominant 173-108 victory over Albion College on Saturday, while Conner Gelwicks, Evan Hagedorn, and Brian Maddock stood out in the men's win (158-130), as the Fighting Scots swept the Britons in dual meet action at Timken Natatorium.

The six swimmers mentioned above were all triple-winners, with success in the 200-yard medley relay being a constant among them all. First, the women won it (first event of the meet), as Saccogna, Desotelle, Hughes, and Jamie Hibbs touched the wall in 1:54.35. Then the men also secured a victory in the 200 medley, with Maddock, Hagedorn, James Love, and Gelwicks besting the others in 1:37.37.

That was a strong start to the day, and the women carried over that momentum with wins in their next six events and 11-of-16 overall. Desotelle added individual triumphs in the 100 breaststroke (1:10.14) and 200 breaststroke (2:35.68), Hughes won both the 50 freestyle (25.47) and 100 freestyle (55.19), and Saccogna took the top spot in the 200 freestyle (2:02.36) and 100 butterfly (1:03.51).

Four other women won individual events, including Anna McGlade in the 1000 freestyle (11:17.31), Holly Hickman in the 100 backstroke (1:02.42), Colleen Kill in the 200 butterfly (2:21.35), and Lena Smith in the 200 backstroke (2:19.79) – just ahead of teammate Hickman (2:20.72).

On the men's side, Gelwicks added to his contribution in the 200 medley relay with solo victories in the 100 backstroke (1:00.98) and 200 backstroke (1:58.85), Hagedorn claimed both breaststroke events with times of 1:00.98 in the 100 and 2:16.42 in the 200, and Maddock won both the 100 butterfly (52.60) and 200 butterfly (2:01.72).

In addition, diver Aaron Salzman delivered 18 team points as well, with first-place in the one-meter (232.50) and three-meter (248.55) diving events.

Wooster will compete against North Coast Athletic Conference foe Allegheny College next Saturday at Meadville, Pa.
