The College of Wooster continues to raise the standard, as a record-high 137 Fighting Scot student-athletes qualified for the North Coast Athletic Conference's Academic Honor Roll, which was released by the league office on Tuesday. It's the third straight year Wooster's upped its record haul, and this year's honorees marked an 11 student-athlete upswing over last year's total.

To be honored, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore on an active roster in a sport sponsored by the NCAC and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher. In total, 783 Wooster student-athletes have received recognition in the eight-year history of the NCAC Academic Honor Roll.

Of the Fighting Scots' contingent, 48 were sophomores, 47 were seniors, and 42 were juniors. Thirteen programs – women's tennis (80 percent), women's soccer (71 percent), women's cross country (66 percent), women's track & field (61 percent), women's lacrosse (60 percent), women's swimming & diving (58 percent), men's lacrosse (56 percent), field hockey (55 percent), volleyball (54 percent), men's soccer (52 percent), baseball (50 percent), men's golf (50 percent), and softball (50 percent) – had at least 50 percent of their eligible nominees qualify for the NCAC Academic Honor Roll. Women's track & field led the way with 19 honorees. Other programs with at least 10 included women's soccer (15), baseball (13), women's cross country (12), women's swimming & diving (10), and men's track & field (10).

On an individual level, men's soccer alumnus Andreas Xenofontos headlines Wooster's academic achievements as a NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient. Football's Eli Lohrey and Matt Pardi were voted to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District® team, while Academic All-America® and Academic All-District® awards are still ongoing in numerous sports.

Noteworthy, Wooster had the third-most honorees among the 10 NCAC institutions and one affiliate. Kenyon College's 158 honorees led the way, while in total, a record 1,123 student-athletes were honored across the conference. View the full list of honorees here.
