Wooster SAAC Celebrating NCAA Div. III Week

Geoffrey Allen The College of Wooster's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) is celebrating NCAA Div. III Week this week.

Programming kicked off on Monday when Libby Ladrach, counselor at Longbrake Student Wellness Center, hosted a "Mental Health Monday" session at Babcock Formal Lounge. Tuesday's events included partnering with Wayne County Humane Society, which brought puppies to campus. Additionally, SAAC posted "ice bath" chats with athletes on their social media accounts.

Coming up, Wooster's SAAC is taking over the North Coast Athletic Conference's Instagram and TikTok accounts on Wednesday, so be sure to follow along. Thursday is "Thank You Thursday" where SAAC will show appreciation for all of those who make the 23 varsity sports possible at the College. Friday's signature event is SAAC's annual seated volleyball tournament at 7 p.m., with proceeds going toward the North Coast Athletic Conference-Presidents' Athletic Conference annual "Change War." All funds raised as part of this year's "Change War" between the rival conferences will be directed to the Special Olympics in celebration of Div. III SAAC's 10-year anniversary of its partnership with the organization.

Students are invited to tailgate with SAAC outside John P. Papp Stadium prior to Saturday's 1 p.m. women's lacrosse game against archnemesis Wittenberg University and athletes are encouraged to wear their gold Wooster t-shirt as part of "Fighting Scots Day." There is also an end of Div. III Week cookout scheduled for Sunday during the softball doubleheader against Baldwin Wallace University.
