Join us in celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day at The College of Wooster when the women's basketball team takes on Kenyon College on Feb. 8.
Game time is at 6:30 p.m.
In addition, an hour before the contest we will be holding an All-Sports Carnival in the auxiliary gymnasium. All varsity female sports will be showcased, aside from basketball, and there is free admission and popcorn for all who attend the carnival.
Then at halftime, a group photo will be taken at center court for any and all female athletes in attendance.
This year marks the 37th Annual National Girls & Women in Sports Day (NGWSD) powered by the Women's Sports Foundation (WSF). The celebration inspires girls and women to play, be active, and to realize their full power. The confidence, strength and character gained through sports participation are the very tools girls and women need to become strong leaders in sports and life. WSF is coming out of 2022, emboldened by a year-long celebration of Title IX's Anniversary. This year's event will serve as the kickoff for the next 50 as we build on the landmark law so future generations understand their rights to equal access and opportunity.
