Wooster Hosting NGWSD Clinic Feb. 3

NGWSD Graphic Join us in celebrating National Girls and Women in Sports Day at The College of Wooster when the women's basketball team takes on Kenyon College and swimming and diving hosts Hiram College and Oberlin College in a double-dual meet on Saturday, Feb. 3.

This year's National Girls and Women in Sports Day is Wednesday, Feb. 7, and to enable more participation in the festivities, Wooster's women's teams are coming together to celebrate Feb. 3. An all-sports carnival for youth in grades kindergarten through seventh will be held in the College's Hot Box Gymnasium (across hall from Timken Gymnasium) from 1-2 p.m., and all varsity female sports, plus several club sports, will be showcased, aside from basketball and swimming & diving.

Clinic participants are invited to check out the swimming & diving meet against Hiram and Oberlin at 10 a.m. and stick around for the 2 p.m. women's basketball game against Kenyon. Admission to the swimming & diving meet is free for all. With a paying adult, those participating in the clinic get free admission to the basketball game and free popcorn from the concession stand.

At halftime of the women's basketball game, clinic attendees are invited to the upper bleachers on the side of the gymnasium opposite the team benches to join Wooster's women's athletes for a group photo. Parents should note the photo will be shared on College-sponsored social media accounts and allowing your child to be in the photo constitutes your consent for them to be in the photo that is shared.
