Davis Voted into Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame

Barb Davis, Wooster Basketball College of Wooster alumna Barb Davis '86 is among the Wayne County Sports Hall of Fame inductees. This year's induction is taking place on Saturday, June 22 at Greystone Event Center in Wooster.

Davis' true passion came out on the hardwood. The 5-8 forward finished with 928 career points, 671 of which came during junior and senior campaigns when the star was named All-NCAC. As a senior, Davis picked up first-team honors after averaging 16.8 points and a team-leading 11.1 rebounds.

Upon graduation, Davis ranked No. 2 at Wooster in both career scoring and rebounding (653) and held single-season records for field-goal percentage (.504), free throws made (76), and the single-game mark for scoring with 32 points against Oberlin College. Davis is currently eighth all-time in rebounding.

In track and field, Davis was a three-year sprinter for the Scots and earned All-America honors in 1983 as part of Wooster's national runner-up 4x100 relay, which still holds the school record at 48.04. Two years later, Davis was part of the NCAC-winning 4x100 relay.

Davis played on teams that won the 1985 NCAC track and field championship and a co-championship in basketball for the 1984-85 season.

Prior to attending the College, Davis was a basketball, track and field, and volleyball standout at Wooster High School.

Upon graduation, Davis pursued a career in teaching and coaching.
