Matt Anderson

Matt Anderson came to Wooster in 2018 following a four-year stint in a similar role at another North Coast Athletic Conference school, DePauw University. As the Assistant Director of Athletic Communication, Anderson helps with the overall duties of promoting Wooster’s 23-team NCAA Division III athletics program.

Anderson oversees and is the main statistician for several sports including softball, soccer, tennis and women’s basketball.

He also has a heavy involvement in the social media strategy of the athletics department. He contributes and creates for the main athletic channels on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube, while overseeing a small team of interns. Some events he’s successfully aided in is the annual fundraiser of Athletics Day of Giving, Division III Week, the new mascot reveal, game days and other special events.

Prior to his work in Division III, Anderson spent time in the journalism field as a sports reporter for a pair of Indianapolis newspapers. He was also the Sports Editor for the Journal Review in Crawfordsville, Ind. for two years.

Anderson earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a business minor from Indiana University Purdue University in 2011.
