Jen Wright

Jen Wright has served as The College of Wooster’s cheerleading coach since the 2023 football season. Wright arrived at Wooster after serving as Wooster High School’s varsity cheerleading coach from 2019-22. She is no stranger to the College, as her mother, Terri Mason, was a professor at the College and was Wooster’s head volleyball coach for seven seasons.

Wright’s coaching experience in cheerleading started at Eagle Valley High School, where she spent four seasons coaching the high school team. She has been a judge for competitive, collegiate, middle school, and high school cheerleading tryouts and state competitions, as well as a cheer consultant for over two decades. She is looking forward to growing the College’s program to include more tumbling and stunting.

A veteran educator, Wright is a language arts teacher at Wooster High School and served a term on the district’s leadership team and building’s leadership team. She previously spent a decade teaching at Caroline Chisholm School in Northampton, England, and held a dual role as assistant principal. Previously, Wright taught at Eagle Valley High School in Colorado and in the Bartlesville Public Schools in Oklahoma.

Wright graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Oklahoma and earned a master’s degree in educational leadership and administration from Ashland University.
