The College of Wooster pitching staff shutout Southern Vermont College 11-0 and Nichols College 7-0 to highlight the second part of its annual Florida swing in Fort Myers, and the Fighting Scots will return to Ohio with a 7-5 overall record.

After dropping a 4-3 decision to traditional power Johns Hopkins University, Steve Hagen tossed six scoreless innings and yielded just three hits during a quality start against Southern Vermont and Hank Schlueter, Jon Huisel, and Zach Klein completed the shutout with a hitless inning pitched apiece. The pitchers received plenty of support from their offense, highlighted by Eddie Reese, who doubled twice, homered once, and delivered four of the teams' 11 RBI.

The next day, Keenan White put together another strong performance on the mound as the reigning North Coast Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week went 6.2 scoreless innings while scattering five singles to Nichols and striking out 11 without a walk. The lefty erased two of the hits on pick offs, and Jon Rothman and Klein finished off the shutout. At the plate, John McLain accounted for two of Wooster's five doubles as well as a pair of RBI.

The Scots extended their win streak to three, dropping the University of Wis.-Stout by a 9-4 count. Zac Mathie provided much of the offense with three doubles, equaling a school record for the most in a single game, and five RBI, while Kyle Koski picked up the win (2-1) and Klein his second save.

Before leaving the Sunshine State, Wooster was tripped up Johns Hopkins again, this time 5-2.

Over the five-game stretch, Jarrod Mancine batted a squad-high .438 (7-for-16), raising the leadoff hitter's season average to an even .400, while McLain was at a .412 clip (7-for-17). In addition to his three-double game, Mathie added two more two-baggers and recorded six RBI, while all four of Johnathan Ray's hits were doubles.

The Scots begin their northern schedule against North Coast Athletic Conference East Division foe Kenyon College (11-3) on March 29.
