Jamie Lackner of The College of Wooster was selected a first-team All-American and Frank Vance a second-team All-American, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced at an event on Thursday night in Appleton, Wis., prior to this year's eight-team finals of the NCAA Div. III Championship. The Wooster duo was also on the D3baseball.com All-America Team, Lackner as a second-teamer and Vance a third-teamer, when the website released its national award winners Wednesday.

Lackner, Wooster's first ABCA first-team All-American since pitcher Mark Miller in 2009, began 2015 with just 36 career at bats, but the sophomore first baseman established himself as one of Div. III's most fearsome clean-up hitters. He is the national leader in home runs (17), RBI (69), and total bases (143), while sporting a slash line of .420 average/.532 on-base percentage/.813 slugging percentage. Included among his .420 average were 16 doubles, and also noteworthy, he scored 59 runs.

After batting .326 during the spring trip, Lackner broke out with a three-homer game against Muskingum University in the Scots' home debut, fueling the first of two North Coast Athletic Conference Hitter-of-the-Week awards. In the next game at Art Murray Field, Lackner belted two more home runs and drove in six against traditional power Marietta College, and other season highlights included six homers during six games versus Wabash College (13-for-20, 16 RBI) and going 14-for-21 (.667) with six doubles and eight RBI during the NCAC Tournament.

Vance, a senior third baseman, was Wooster's leading hitter throughout the year until Lackner overtook him late, with the former still finishing with a .405 batting average, 39 extra-base hits, and 57 RBI. The smooth-swinging left-hander produced 24 doubles – currently the third-most in Div. III – as well as eight triples and seven home runs. Two of his best games came against Wabash, as he hit for the cycle on April 12 and doubled five times (Div. III record) during a 6-for-6, five-RBI performance May 2.

For his career, Vance became the seventh in the program's tradition-rich history with a batting average at .400 or above (min. 250 at bats) as he finished at an even .400 (189-for-473). He also tied for 10th in doubles with 44 and tied for fourth in triples with 10.
