Senior Jake Fling moved into a tie with junior Michael Wielansky for The College of Wooster baseball team's career program record in triples, and the third-ranked Fighting Scots continued to click in all phases en route to winning their 11th straight game by a 10-1 score over host Thiel College on Tuesday afternoon at Tomcat Park in Greenville, Pa.

Wooster (16-3) continued to light up the scoreboard early and often with three runs in the first inning, one in the second, and one in the third.

In the first inning, junior Jacob Stuursma and Wielansky had Thiel (10-13) scrambling from the early going as back-to-back one-out doubles quickly had the Scots on top 2-0. Two batters later, junior Garrett Crum stroked a two-run single out to left field.

Wooster's two-bagger theme continued in the second, this time with Fling delivering the base knock to plate junior Chandler Dippman, who reached with a one-out single.

Crum walked to lead off the third, and squeaked into second base with the third of Wooster's six steals on the day. Later in the frame, sophomore Nick Strausbaugh laced a two-out single to left field to make it a 3-0 tilt.

That's where the scored stayed until the fifth inning when Fling was off to the races with his 14th-career three-bagger that brought in Strausbaugh and Dippman.

Speaking of Strausbaugh, the Scots' left fielder pushed the score to 10-1 in the seventh inning with a three-run round-tripper, which came less than a week after his first collegiate home run.

Strausbaugh led the way offensively with a 3-for-5 showing with four RBI and two runs scored. Stuursma totaled a team-best four hits - two of which were doubles - while Fling added a trio of RBI.

Senior Alec Hammond improved to 4-0 on the year with six innings of four-hit, one-run baseball. The southpaw struck out five before a quartet of relievers combined to allow one hit over the final three innings.

Junior Brian Murray struck out the side in the ninth inning.

Noteworthy, the game marked the sixth time this season the Scots' pitching staff has scattered six or fewer hits, and Wooster's allowed 11 runs over those six games.

Next, Wooster travels to No. 14 Marietta College (16-4) for a 7 p.m. night game on Thursday, April 12.
