Andrew Hill

One day removed from firing the 13th no-hitter in program history, sophomore Andrew Hill was selected as the North Coast Athletic Conference's Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Monday.

Hill toed the rubber for game two of Sunday's doubleheader split against Allegheny College, in what marked the right-hander's lone outing of the week. The sophomore needed just 96 pitches to complete his shutout, and he struck out three Gators, including Andrew Vincent, who watched a 1-2 pitch go by for the final out of the game.

Eleventh-ranked College of Wooster's defense was equally as impressive, as between innings two and five, a one-out, third-inning walk represented the Gators' lone baserunner. Eleven of the 12 outs during that four-inning stretch came by means other than a strikeout.

Hill's no-hitter is the program's first since Kyle Cunningham-Rhoads logged the second perfect game in Wooster history on April 15, 2012.

Hill's the second Wooster pitcher to earn the NCAC's weekly prize this season. Senior Chandler Dippman earned the award on April 8.

Wooster's back in action on Tuesday, as the Scots head to Alliance, Ohio for a 4 p.m. single game against the University of Mount Union (17-11).
