2020 D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Team

The College of Wooster was the lone team with a pair of first-team D3baseball.com Preseason All-Americans, which were announced by the popular website on Tuesday afternoon. Dan Harwood and Harry Witwer-Dukes, the nationally-ranked Fighting Scots' returning All-Americans were the College's honorees.

Harwood, a first-team D3baseball.com and second-team American Baseball Coaches Association All-American in 2019, enters his senior season as one of the premier players in NCAA Div. III. The smooth-swinging lefty is the eighth player in program history to earn at least two ABCA All-American certificates, and he was a consensus first-team All-Mideast Region performer the last two years. Last year, Harwood led Wooster with a .424 average (70-for-165) and ranked ninth in Div. III in on-base percentage (.538), 27th in runs (53), 30th in average, and 37th in hits.

Witwer-Dukes, a first-team ABCA and second-team D3baseball.com All-American in his first full season as a starter, became the program's second second baseman to be a first-team ABCA All-American last year. Witwer-Dukes ranked third on the team with a .390 average (64-for-164), and was tops on the squad with 56 RBI, a mark that ranked 13th nationally and second within the North Coast Athletic Conference. Witwer-Dukes really made his presence felt at the Wooster Regional, where he went 11-for-19 with 11 RBI, six runs scored, and four extra base hits.

Wooster, which won an unprecedented fourth straight NCAC title last year, and has a league-leading 19 championships, is ranked 12th in Collegiate Baseball's Preseason Top 40 Poll. The D3baseball.com/National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason Top 25 Poll is expected to be released next week.
