Collegiate Baseball Div. III Preseason Poll

The College of Wooster's baseball team checked in at No. 17 in Collegiate Baseball's Preseason Div. III Poll, which was released in late December. The Fighting Scots had 242 points and were one of five Mideast Region teams ranked in the top 20.

Wooster, which was off to a 4-4 start before COVID-19 halted the 2020 season, projects to return three starting positions players (junior infielder Tyler Chumita, junior outfielder Ben Gbur, and senior infielder Gabe Sherman) and four starting pitchers (senior right-hander Jay DiBacco, senior left-hander Evan Faxon, sophomore left-hander Christian Johnston, and junior left-hander Mitchell Reardon) from its 2020 team, plus 20 other letterwinners, including seniors Noah Clement (outfielder), Jack Jones (right-handed pitcher), Zach Schuch (outfielder), and Steve Spidell (right-handed pitcher).

In its last full season, Wooster advanced to the NCAA Div. III Super Regionals, won its North Coast Athletic Conference-leading 19th championship, and posted a 30-15 record. The Scots are led by second-head head coach Barry Craddock.
