The College of Wooster's Ryan Kramer is a consensus first-team All-Region 7 honoree, as the Fighting Scots' sophomore designated hitter scored the honor from both the American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com on Tuesday.
Kramer swung one of the top bats in all of Div. III this spring. Through the super regionals, Kramer is sixth nationally in RBI per game, 14th nationally in slugging, 23rd nationally in average, and 30th nationally in home runs per game. The right-hander led Wooster with a .449 average (62-for-138) this spring, and he reached base safely over half of the time, thanks to 19 walks. Kramer's line included 55 RBI, 43 runs, and 27 extra-base hits, 11 of which were home runs. The first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference honoree led the league in hitting, home runs, and slugging (.819). Additionally, Kramer ranked in the top-five in on-base percentage, RBI, and doubles.
Kramer's average was bolstered with a 15-game hitting streak, which spanned March 12 through April 16. Eleven multi-hit games were logged by Kramer during that stretch, including a 17-for-34 mark spanning games played March 30 through April 13. During the .500 stretch, Kramer tallied 19 RBI, 14 runs scored, and six home runs. He earned D3baseball.com Team of the Week honors following a four-homer week that came during the 15-game hitting streak.
Kramer is Wooster's seventh designated hitter to earn All-Region honors and the first since two-time All-American Dan Harwood in 2019. He is now up for All-America consideration. Both the ABCA and D3baseball.com will announce their All-America teams later this week.
