Kramer Named to CSC Academic All-America® Third Team
Kramer adds to accolades as baseball program gets another selection
Ryan Kramer, The College of Wooster baseball team's All-American designated hitter, now adds College Sports Communicators Academic All-America® honors to his 2024 haul. The Fighting Scots' star sophomore was voted a third-team Academic All-American®, as announced by the organization on Tuesday.
"Ryan had an incredible season, and I am thrilled he was recognized as an Academic All-American®," said Aaron Swick, Wooster's head coach." Ryan's work ethic and consistency on the field and in the classroom are the reason he has flourished as a student-athlete at a challenging school like The College of Wooster."
Earlier this spring, Kramer was voted a second-team American Baseball Coaches Association and D3baseball.com All-American. He finished the year ranked sixth nationally in RBI per game, 14th nationally in slugging, and sported the 21st-highest batting average in all of Div. III. The consensus first-team ABCA and D3baseball.com All-Region performer earned first-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference laurels as well. He led Wooster with a .449 average (62-for-138) and sported a .449/.509/.819 slash line. Twenty-seven of Kramer's 62 hits went for extra bases, including 11 which went for round-trippers. He drove in 55 runs, scored 43 times, and logged 19 walks. Kramer is playing this summer for the Watertown Rapids Baseball Club.
The business economics major volunteers with Montessori School in Wooster and the area's Night to Shine prom events. This spring, he was an instructor for the program's free youth community clinic, which attracted over 60 participants. On campus, Kramer works in the equipment room and with game operations for varsity athletic events. He has coaching experience with Windy City Baseball's travel program.
Kramer is Wooster's 64th CSC Academic All-American® and the eighth selection from the baseball team, which is the second-most for a sport at the College. This is the fourth time in the last five seasons Wooster's baseball program has had an Academic All-American® and Kramer is the second Scot to earn American Baseball Coaches Association All-America and CSC Academic All-America® honors in the same season.
