Record-Setting Touchdown Return Earns Football's Albani Weekly Honor

Senior cornerback Bryan Albani made an interception and scored a touchdown on a kick return on Saturday night, earning him a spot on D3Football.com's Team of the Week. The announcement was made Tuesday on the popular website.

Albani put on a show under the lights against No. 10 ranked Case Western Reserve University, intercepting the top rated quarterback in NCAA Div. III late in the second quarter and returning it 13 yards. Then midway through the third quarter, Albani recorded the longest kickoff return in school history, taking it back 93 yards for a touchdown that put the Fighting Scots ahead 32-31.

For his career, Albani has now totaled nine interceptions and scored three touchdowns – his others coming on a 55-yard interception return against Earlham College as a sophomore, and earlier this year on an 88-yard kickoff return against Waynesburg University. Last season he was named a first-team all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection after he picked off five passes, which tied him for second in the league.
