Our "Senior Salute" series continues with Vell Robinson, an education major from Sarasota, Florida. Robinson is a member of the football and track and field teams.
Q: Why did you choose to attend The College of Wooster?
A: I chose Wooster because it was more affordable for me.
Q: What does being a Fighting Scot student-athlete mean to you?
A: It means always being a part of a family that extends past the field. It also means being with others that share similar struggles in order to get through.
Q: What are some of your favorite memories as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: My favorite memory is when I first got on campus and was greeted by fellow athletes and was given an opportunity to feel included.
Q: What is the best part about being a student-athlete at The College of Wooster?
A: The best part is the achievements you make along the way.
Q: Which College of Wooster faculty or staff member has made the greatest impact on you and why?
A: The Education faculty have worked tirelessly with me to help me grow as an individual and student.
Q: What other people or resources impacted your Wooster experience in a positive way and how did these people and resources set you up to be successful at Wooster?
A: My friend group has made the college experience a much better experience then I think it would have been without them. My parents are an important part of my Wooster experience because they always support me.
Q: Tell us a bit about your Independent Study project?
A: I am student teaching.
Q: Tell us a bit about something cool you did as a student at The College of Wooster?
A: I have competed in 12 championship meets in track and field between conference and All-Ohio. I have competed in 16 different events in track and field, which is a huge honor.
Q: Reflecting back on your time at Wooster, what advice would you give your first-year self?
A: The advice I would give myself is do not take anything for granted as college flies by fast. Go enjoy yourself. You can stay on top of your work, still have fun, and not burn yourself out.
