Zane Grove

Zane Grove

Zane Grove, a name possibly familiar to those who follow North Coast Athletic Conference football closely, joined The College of Wooster football staff ahead of the 2022 season. Grove serves as the Fighting Scots’ outside linebackers coach and is heavily involved with recruiting.

Grove arrived in Wooster following a three-year stint at Case Western Reserve University where he served as the outside linebackers coach. While with the Spartans, Grove was part of the 2019 Presidents’ Athletic Conference championship team which appeared in the NCAA Div. III Championships field. He assisted with weekly scouting and game planning and handled recruiting for 12 states.

Grove’s coaching career started at Wittenberg University where he was a football operations intern and student assistant football coach while finishing up his degree in 2017. That year, he helped the Tigers to an undefeated regular season record and a NCAA Championships berth. After leaving Wittenberg, Grove went to the University of Minnesota, Morris where he coached defensive backs for one season in addition to working closely with the special teams units.

As a player, Grove helped Wittenberg to a 37-8 record from 2013-16. He was part of three conference championship teams and primarily played cornerback.

Grove graduated from Wittenberg with a bachelor’s in business management in 2017.
