The College of Wooster field hockey trio of sophomore forward Sydney Schuster, sophomore goalkeeper Katie Shideler, and senior midfielder Erika Womack were selected to the 2018 Longstreth/National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region team, as announced by the organization on Wednesday morning. Schuster was a first-team selection, while Shideler and Womack were both named to the all-region second-team.

Schuster's 21 goals and 47 points marked the second-most within the Great Lakes Region, and those totals rate as the seventh- and eighth-most, respectively, in Wooster's single-season annals. The sophomore scored at least once in 14 of Wooster's 21 games this season and had five multi-goal games.

Shideler's .844 save percentage ranked seventh in NCAA Div. III this season, and earning top billing within the Great Lakes Region. The two-year starter led a defense ranked 37th nationally with a 1.30 goals-against average, while the Scots' 7.38 saves per game ranked 63rd in Div. III.

Womack, the 40th multi-time all-region honoree in program history, was one of three Scots to score at least 10 goals this season. Womack finished the year fifth within the North Coast Athletic Conference in points, and she scored the decisive tally during Wooster's 3-2 shootout win over Kenyon College on Sept. 29.

Noteworthy, Wooster's three all-region selections are the most since 2013.

Wooster went 15-6 in 2018, including a 10-4 mark in NCAC play. The Scots placed second in the NCAC and advanced to the championship game of the league tournament for the first time since 2010.
