The College of Wooster field hockey team's collective academic achievement resulted in the program earning its 15th National Field Hockey Coaches Association National Academic Team Award over the last 16 years, while 10 student-athletes were honored by the association. These awards were announced in a series of releases by the coaches' association over the last four weeks.

Senior Grace O'Leary headlined the individual accolades by earning a fourth Scholar of Distinction and National Academic Squad certificate. Of note, all three of Wooster's seniors – Emma Hambright, O'Leary, and Harriet Sudduth – are four-time members of the NFHCA's National Academic Squad.

The seniors were joined on the National Academic Squad by first-year Vera Logan, first-year Jill Murray, junior Caitlyn O'Connor, junior Sammi Pavlecic, first-year Lucy Segal, first-year Zoë Semersky, and junior Katie Shideler. Logan and Semersky joined O'Leary on the Scholars of Distinction list.

The NFHCA's Scholars of Distinction is award to student-athletes who maintain a minimum 3.90 cumulative GPA through the first semester of the 2019-20 school year, while a 3.30 cumulative GPA is needed for National Academic Squad membership. Teams must turn in a collective GPA of at least 3.00 for the fall semester to qualify for the National Academic Team Award.

All nine North Coast Athletic Conference institutions earned the National Academic Team Award for the 2019 season, 93 student-athletes league-wide were on the National Academic Squad, and 24 of them were Scholars of Distinction.
