Barkdoll, Hardy, Zehnal Voted All-NCAC
Wooster trio third-team honorees
The College of Wooster's Cate Barkdoll, Lizzie Hardy, and Frankie Zehnal were voted third-team All-North Coast Athletic Conference for field hockey, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Barkdoll, a junior, is now a two-time All-NCAC goalkeeper. This fall, Barkdoll made a career-high 121 saves and matched a collegiate-best with a 79.1 save percentage. Barkdoll started all 14 games and had a 2.21 goals-against average. The junior had two shootout wins over Oberlin College and logged six double-digit save efforts, headlined by a career-high 20 in the season finale against Ohio Wesleyan University. Barkdoll's 121 saves are the most since alumna Katie Shideler tallied 136 in 2019. Wooster's alumna had the exact same save percentage as Barkdoll did during the 136-save season.
Hardy, a junior, was one of Wooster's top all-around field players, evidenced by leading the team with 44 shots and playing a key role on the defensive penalty corner unit. Hardy's six points ranked second on the team, and the junior passed out a team-high four assists in 2024. Hardy's signature game came against Concordia University Wisconsin, where the junior scored and passed out an assist. Hardy converted in both shootout wins against Oberlin.
Zehnal, a first-year, emerged as Wooster's top scoring threat. The midfielder led the team with nine points and four goals. Zehnal scored twice in Wooster's 4-2 win over Concordia and added goals against Allegheny College and Transylvania University. The first-year's 35 shots ranked second on the team.
