Three Scots Earn All-NCAC Certificates
Fanelly and Williams second-team honorees while Dupler earns spot on honorable mention squad
The College of Wooster's trio of senior Dan Fanelly, junior Spencer Williams, and sophomore Reece Dupler were each named to the All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team, with Fanelly and Williams earning second-team certificates and Dupler picking up a honorable mention accolade, as announced by the league office Wednesday.
Fanelly, now a three-time all-conference honoree, leads the Fighting Scots' traditional balanced offense with 19.2 points per game, and is converting at an impressive 61.2 percent (180-for-294) from the floor on the season. The forward leads the team in assists (85) and steals (40), and is third with 5.3 rebounds per night.
Williams, a two-time all-conference selection, ranks second on the team in scoring at 14.6 points per night. The well-rounded guard sports a 46.2 percent mark from the field (135-for-292) to pair with 3.1 rebounds per game.
Dupler, who earned his first all-conference certificate, is putting up 12.9 points per game to go along with 3.6 rebounds per outing. The sophomore is converting at a 56.8 percent (159-for-280) mark on the season, and is second on the team with 31 steals.
Wooster is currently preparing for its NCAA Div. III-record 15th consecutive appearance in the national tournament, as the Scots will be in Hanover, Ind. for first- and possibly second-round action March 3-4. The Scots will face North Central College (17-10) in the opening game there, with tip-off slated for 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
