Fresh off a co-career-high 31-point outing during the then-18th-ranked College of Wooster men's basketball team's 91-84 win over then-11th-ranked Wabash College on Saturday, junior Danyon Hempy was selected as the North Coast Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for the second time this season, as announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Hempy's efforts helped Wooster (16-3, 11-1 NCAC) move into a tie with Wabash (17-2, 11-1 NCAC) for first-place in the NCAC with six regular season games remaining.  While the junior made waves with his third 30-point game of the season, it was his play defensively that helped seal the win. With just over 20 seconds left, Hempy deflected the ball off the leg of Wabash's Jack Davidson, giving possession back to Wooster after the ball skirted out of bounds. After getting fouled, Hempy knocked down both free throws to make it a seven-point game.

Earlier in the week, Hempy scored a team-high 25 points during Wooster's 81-72 win at Allegheny College (7-11, 3-9 NCAC), his third of now four-straight 20-point efforts.

Hempy and his 13th-ranked Wooster teammates are back in action at home on Wednesday, Jan. 30. The Scots are set to take on Kenyon College (1-18, 0-11 NCAC) at 8 p.m.
