Senior Reece Dupler and junior Danyon Hempy, who became the second duo in The College of Wooster men's basketball team's tradition-rich history to have 500-point seasons, were among the third-team All-Great Lakes Region honorees, as announced by the popular online website D3hoops.com on Monday afternoon.

Dupler, the latest in a long line of Wooster greats with at least three all-conference certificates, ranked second on the team with 17.2 points per game. The senior finished 16th within the Great Lakes Region in scoring, while his .539 field goal percentage (215-for-399) was the 13th-best within the region and just south of 100th nationally. In fact, Dupler's 215 field goals are the third-most in the region, and rank in the top 20 in Div. III.

For his career, Dupler scored 1,556 points – the 11th-most in program history – and finished sixth all-time with 658 field goals.

Hempy, who ranks in the top 50 nationally at 20.6 points per game, scored the fifth-most points in program history this season at 618, a total that is also the second-best within the Great Lakes Region. The junior logged 16 20-point games this season, including a pair of 31-point efforts against Sul Ross State University and Wabash College. Ironically, Hempy matched Dupler with a .539 field goal percentage (222-for-412), while his 222 makes rank six behind Wittenberg University's Connor Seipel for the most within the region.

Not only is Hempy the second Scot to play for Steve Moore to average over 20 points per game for an entire season, he's the second to do so since Wooster legend Tom Dinger '71 donned the Black and Gold.

Hempy heads into his senior season with 1,341 points, a total that's already 18th on the storied program's career list. Hempy's third all-time in points heading into his senior season behind Dinger (1,740) and James Cooper (1,491).

Noteworthy, the North Coast Athletic Conference-champion Scots were the lone team in the region to have multiple student-athletes on the All-Great Lakes Team.
