NABC Team of the Week Release

The College of Wooster men's basketball team was selected as the National Association of Basketball Coaches Div. III Team of the Week, as announced by the organization on Tuesday morning.

Wooster won a pair of exciting North Coast Athletic Conference contests last week, starting with Wednesday's 62-61 triumph at Allegheny College. Senior Danyon Hempy drained the game-winner from the wing with 5.1 seconds remaining, and Allegheny turned the ball over with 0.4 seconds left. Junior Dontae Williams scored 20 points and finished a rebound shy of a double-double.

On Saturday, Wooster knocked down all eight of its free throw attempts in the final 39.1 seconds en route to a 79-74 home victory over Wabash College. Hempy scored a game-high 21 points to lead four Fighting Scots in double figures, while Williams posted a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds.

Wooster was previously honored by the NABC as its Team of the Week on January 15, 2019. The Scots are the second NCAC team to collect the weekly honor this season. Wabash College was the Div. III selection for games played November 18-24.

Wooster (5-1) is back in action on Sunday, December 15 against Saint John Fisher College (4-3) at DME Sports Academy in Daytona Beach, Florida.
