The College of Wooster's Danyon Hempy is this season's first repeat winner of the North Coast Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week award, which was announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Hempy, a senior guard for the 20th-ranked Fighting Scots, scored a game-high 27 points during Wooster's thrilling 98-86 win over No. 2, and previously unbeaten, Wittenberg University on Saturday. Hempy was 11-of-15 from the floor and dished out four assists during the 120th meeting in one of small college basketball's greatest all-time rivalries.

For the week, Hempy shot 67.7 percent (21-of-26) from the floor, 9-of-10 at the charity stripe, and averaged 27.5 points. He scored a game-high 28 points on 10-of-16 shooting during Wednesday's 94-92 win over Oberlin College.

The NCAC's leading scorer was previously the NCAC Player of the Week on December 9. This is his fourth career NCAC Player of the Week honor.

Hempy, and his Wooster (13-2, 7-1 NCAC) teammates are back in action on Wednesday, January 22, when the Scots play at Denison University (4-11, 1-7 NCAC) at 8 p.m.
