Senior Brandon Styers scored a season-high 24 points during The College of Wooster men's basketball team's 82-53 win over Hiram College on Saturday evening, and on Monday, the Fighting Scots' star shooting guard earned North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honors.
Styers dropped in 13 of his points during the Scots' remarkable game-opening 23-0 run. The senior was locked in from deep, hitting a trio of three-pointers during the scoring spree, with the last one capping the opening stretch at the 14:33 mark. Styers went 8-of-13 from the floor, 4-of-6 from deep, and was a perfect 4-of-4 from the line in Saturday's win over Hiram. Elsewhere, the biology major had three rebounds and two steals.
