Wooster Basketball Now Ranked in Top 10
Fighting Scots No. 8 this week, program's highest ranking since 2016
D3hoops.com Top 25 Poll (Dec. 9)
The College of Wooster men's basketball team has climbed to a top-10 national ranking in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll. Wooster, off to a 7-0 start, is ranked eighth this week, up from 13th last week.
Wooster climbed into the national poll on November 25, in what marked the program's 250th time being nationally ranked since D3hoops.com's poll started in 1999. Div. III's winningest team of the 2000s was last ranked in the top-10 on February 3, 2019, when the Fighting Scots checked in at No. 9. This is Wooster's highest ranking since the program started the 2016-17 season No. 7.
Wooster is next in action at Timken Gymnasium at 2 p.m. on Sunday, December 15. The Scots take on DePauw University (3-5, 1-1 NCAC). Senior Jamir Billings is two steals shy of surpassing Antwyan Reynolds' career record of 259 that has topped the program's leaderboard since 2002. Two team members are within 44 points of joining senior Ashton Price as 1,000-point collegiate scorers.
