Wooster Trio on All-NCAC Team
Billings program's seventh four-time All-NCAC player
The College of Wooster's Jamir Billings, Nick Everett, and Ashton Price are all part of this year's All-North Coast Athletic Conference Team, which extended the program's run of at least three all-conference selections to 21 straight years. Billings was named first-team All-NCAC, while Everett and Price were both third-team selections.
Billings joins Wooster's prestigious list of four-time All-NCAC selections, consisting of Xavier Brown, Ryan Gorman, Scott Meech, Bryan Nelson, Tom Port, and Erich Riebe. Billings earned his second first-team All-NCAC certificate this season. He currently ranks fifth nationally with 87 steals and eighth nationally with 3.11 steals per game. Billings broke the 38-year-old NCAC record with his 324th steal in the NCAC Tournament championship game and ended his career 13th in Div. III history in steals. Billings averaged 13.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game as a senior. He is set to graduate as the program's all-time leader in steals, assists (596), and 20th with 1,270 points. Billings broke his single-season program record with 87 steals this winter. He dropped in a season-high 28 points during Wooster's 67-57 win over Wittenberg University, which marked the program's record ninth straight win over its archrival. Billings had nine games with at least four steals, including seven against Johnson & Wales University Providence in December. The seven steals tied Billings for the second-most in single-game program history, trailing just the 10 he had against Hiram College in 2022 and marked his fifth game with at least seven steals.
Everett, a three-time All-NCAC honoree, broke the conference and program career records with a 65.3 field-goal percentage (427-of-654), a clip that is the 16th-highest in Div. III history. Everett is set to graduate with 1,200 career points, the 23rd-most in program history and third-most among transfer players. This year, he averaged 11.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. He had six 20-point games, led by a career-high 27 against Kenyon College in February. Against Kenyon, Everett went 8-of-12 from the floor and 11-of-14 at the charity stripe. This season, Everett ranked second in the NCAC with a 59.7 (108-of-181) field-goal percentage and attempted the second-most free throws in the conference.
Price, a two-time All-NCAC honoree, scored 1,180 points between his two years at Wooster and his two at Baldwin Wallace University. Price's points are the fourth-most among transfer players in program history. The senior worked his way back from injury to average 16.2 points per game over the final nine games of the year. He was Wooster's most consistent scorer, hitting double digits in all nine of those outings and scoring 15 or more points in seven of them. Overall, Price led Wooster with 18.2 points per game. He shot 50.3 percent (93-of-185) from the field and dropped in a high of 29 points in a 92-80 win over Oberlin College in November. Price had four 20-point games on the year.
Wooster went 21-7 this season for its 36th consecutive full season with at least 18 wins. Wooster played in the NCAC Tournament championship game for the 26th time in the last 28 tournaments, and every full season for the program since 1995 has concluded in either the NCAA Tournament or the championship game of the conference tournament.
