Brian Kiper, who won two state championships as a high school basketball coach and was a member of nearby Triway High School’s state semifinalist team as a player, has joined The College of Wooster men’s basketball staff in advance of the 2023-24 season. 

Kiper, who teaches in the Triway Local School District and serves as the high school golf coach, most recently was the head girls basketball coach at Northwestern High School. He previously served as head coach at Triway High School, Myrtle Beach High School, where he compiled a 99-14 record with two state championships over a five-year stretch, and Clear Fork High School. 

Kiper is the son of Charlie and Joan Kiper, who are among the program’s biggest supporters. The Kipers chair the Rebounders organization, Charlie serves as the team’s official scorekeeper at home games, and their son, Mark, played at the College. 

Kiper graduated from Kent State University with a degree in physical education. He resides in Wooster with his wife, Jennifer, and they have a son, Hunter, who is in his final year of law school at Cleveland State University.
