Trio Leads Wooster to Fourth-Place at Denison Fall Classic

Led by Michael Peters, Tim Faerber, and John Angelo, The College of Wooster finished in fourth-place at the Denison Fall Classic, a 36-hole tournament hosted by Denison University at the Granville Golf Course.

The Scots were consistent, recording a 616 (308, 308) during the two-day event, behind strong showings from a trio of golfers. Peters, Faerber, and Angelo paced Wooster with matching 12th-place finishes (153), while Blake Sword (157) was just four strokes behind his classmates.

Faerber, who shot a 79 in his second round, was among the top-10 on Saturday, when he shot a three-over par 74. Peters shot his own 74 on Sunday, and Angelo was steady with rounds of 77 and 76.

Wooster finished ahead of Thomas More College (621), despite trailing it by five strokes after the first round. Denison (612) just edged out the Scots for third-place, while DePauw University (584) bested Wittenberg University (592) for top honors.

Next up for Wooster will be the Guy Kuhn Invitational on Sept. 19-20 at the Country Club of Meadville in Meadville, Pa.
