Blake Sword

College of Wooster junior Blake Sword shot a 75 on Wednesday during The College of Wooster's dual match with Methodist University's "B" team, which earned him a first-place finish individually, and helped him garner North Coast Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week honors, as announced by the league Monday.

Sword, who shot a 75 or lower three times during the fall portion of the season, picked up where he left off in the team's first event of the spring. He fired a 75 at Anderson Creek Golf Club in Spring Lake, N.C., which made him the medalist, and helped Wooster finish just eight strokes shy (320-312) of knocking off Methodist.

The Scots will compete in the Purple and White Invitational this Friday and Saturday, which is hosted by Capital University.
