The College of Wooster scored fourth-lowest during Sunday's round of the Ted Barclay Invitational and moved into sixth-place overall at the 13-team event, hosted by Denison University over the weekend at the par-71, 6559-yard Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.

A two-day total of 609 put the Fighting Scots within distance of a top-three showing, as they were just five strokes off the pace of third-place Otterbein University (604), while Ohio Wesleyan University (588) edged the University of Mount Union (593) for the team trophy.

Wooster's four scorers over the second 18 holes all shot 76 or lower, highlighted by an even-par 71 from Tim Faerber and a 72 by Michael Peters. The latter was also in the 70s on Saturday, as Peters paced the Scots with a tie for 14th-place individually (151) among the field of 77 golfers.

John Angelo was next for Wooster with back-to-back rounds of 76, tying for 19th (152), while Faerber and Blake Sword, who carded a 77 and 76, were among those in 22nd-place (153).

The Scots' other starter was Greg Benckart, who totaled 166 (82-84) for a tie for 62nd, and playing as individuals while wearing the Black and Old Gold were Jeremy Burke (83-80) and Tim Golding (87-84).

Next weekend, Wooster will participate at Ohio Wesleyan's Strimer Memorial Invitational in the final warm-up prior to the North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship Series.
