Led by Michael Peters, The College of Wooster men's golf team took third-place this weekend at the Strimer Memorial Invitational, a two-day, 36-hole event at the par-70, 6,537-yard Glenross Golf Course at Delaware, Ohio.

The Scots shot a 625, which included a 301 on day one and a 324 during windy second-day conditions. Adrian College barely nudged out host Ohio Wesleyan University 604 to 605 to win the tournament, while Wooster finished comfortably ahead of fourth-place Denison University (639).

Peters got off to a stellar start, as he shot a one-under 69 on day one, tying him for Saturday's lowest round. Then battling the wind on Sunday, he shot a 79 to score a 147, which tied for the second-lowest total of the weekend. Next up statistically for Wooster was Tim Faerber, who shot a 155 (75-80), while John Angelo finished just two strokes behind him at 157 (77-80).

Also contributing to Wooster's team-score was Blake Sword with a 166 (80-86) and Andrew Young at 178 (88-90).

Next week, Wooster will host the Nye Intercollegiate on Saturday and Sunday, which will be the first event this spring that goes towards the North Coast Athletic Conference standings.
