Scots Finish Eighth at Denison Fall Invitational

The College of Wooster men's golf team finished in eighth-place at this weekend's Denison Fall Invitational, which consisted of two 18-hole rounds at the par-71, 6,559-yard Granville Golf Course in Granville, Ohio.

The Scots shot better on day one, as they carded Saturday's sixth-best score at 317, but they ultimately dropped into eighth-place after a second round score of 327, resulting in a 644 two-day total. Wittenberg University took top honors with a 601, while Ohio Wesleyan University (609) and DePauw University (616) rounded out the top-three.

Leading Wooster was John Angelo with a 154 (76-78), which was tied him for 18th-place overall among a field of 75 golfers. Andy Young was next in line with a 162 (78-84), while Marcus Carano's 163 (78-85) and Calvin Milligan's 165 (85-80) were close behind.

The Scots will be off next weekend and will return to action Sept. 29-30 at the Kenyon Invitational.
