Through the first two rounds of the North Coast Athletic Conference Golf Championship Series, The College of Wooster men's team sits in fifth-place as it put together similar rounds of 309 and 311 at Denison University's annual Ted Barclay Invitational in Granville, Ohio, on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

The Fighting Scots' 620 total puts them within striking distance of a top-three finish when the championship series concludes this coming weekend, as they're just seven strokes off the pace of third-place Kenyon College (613) and four from Allegheny College (616). Wooster will also have to stay ahead of the likes of DePauw University (627) and Denison University (628), while No. 14 ranked Wittenberg University (586) leads the way.

Three Scot players scored in the 70s each day at the par-71, 6559-yard Granville Golf Course. T.J. Selby and Andy Young brought matching 76s into the clubhouse after Saturday's 18 holes, John Angelo carded a 77, and also part of the team scoring was Marcus Carano with an even 80.

On Sunday, Angelo shaved three strokes to get down to a 74, Calvin Milligan got into the scoring via a 78, and Carano improved to a 79. Selby turned in an 80 as the team's fourth scorer.

In the individual standings, Angelo is tied for eighth-place (151) out of the 48 competitors in the NCAC standings, Selby tied for 21st (156), Carano tied for 24th (159), and Milligan and Young are tied with each other for 26th (160).

The NCAC Championship Series will wrap up next Saturday and Sunday with the NCAC Invitational at Oakhaven Golf Club in Delaware, Ohio.
