Wooster Takes Third In Preparation of NCAC Championships

GRANVILLE, Ohio -- The College of Wooster men's golf team finished third of five teams at the Ted Barclay Invitational hosted by Denison University over the weekend.

The Scots shot a 614 over two rounds at the par-71, 6,486-yard course at the Denison Golf Club. Denison won the invite with a 596, and DePauw University shot a 604 to finish second.

Andrew DeLaat improved seven strokes on day two to finish with a team-best 149. He also climbed up eight spots in the standings to finish tied for fourth.

David Roney shot a 76 on both days and tied for sixth by shooting a 152. Evan Ferrara shot a 75 to lead the Scots after round one and tied for 11th with a 155; Ben Foltz finished 21st with a 160, and Jimmy Hinton finished 25th with a 163.

Denison's Christian Early won medalist honors with a 144.

Wooster will now prepare for the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships next weekend taking place in Mansfield at the Westbrook Country Club.
