Foltz Leads Scots at Guy & Jeanne Kuhn Invitational

MEADVILLE, Pa. - The College of Wooster men's golf team finished seventh among "A" teams at Allegheny College's Guy and Jeanne Kuhn Invitational, which was contested on Sunday and Monday at the par-72, 6,791-yard Country Club of Meadville.

Sophomore Ben Foltz led Wooster's quintet at the tournament with a 157, and he tied for 19th-place. Foltz carded Wooster's co-low round for the tournament with a 78 on Monday, and he had a 79 over the opening 18 holes.

Senior Evan Jenkins' 163 placed him in a tie for 36th. Jenkins logged Wooster's other 78 for the tournament, with that round coming on Sunday. He shot an 85 for the final 18 holes.

Jimmy Hinton turned in Wooster's final sub-80 round of the tournament with a 79 on Monday. He didn't play in Sunday's round.

Seniors Evan Ferrara and Mac Bellovich rounded out Wooster's lineup. Ferrara tied for 44th-place at 166, while Bellovich tied for 54th-place at 174.

Wooster's 324 on Monday marked a six-stroke improvement from Sunday's round. The Scots finished at 654 for the tourney.

Host Allegheny led the field with a 599, six strokes better than Carnegie Mellon University, which entered a "B" team in the tournament. Carnegie Mellon's Jay Milch was the medalist at 146.

Next, Wooster's playing in John Carroll University's John DiCillo Invitational, which is set for Monday, September 16 at Shaker Heights Country Club in Shaker Hts., Ohio.
